Water leakage of the ferroseal
Date: 19 September 2000
Warning for customers who replace ferro seals on their
own, using a FR591 delivered between mid 1999 and mid 2000.
In one series FR591, delivered between mid 1999 and mid 2000, there can be sharp edges in the rotorplate, which can cause defects to the O-ring of the ferroseal, causing water leakage.
Before placing a new ferroseal, check at the edge of the hole in the
rotor plate where the ferroseal slides in, if there are sharp edges close
to the two small holes which were closed by welding (caused by this welding):
When there are sharp edges Nonius will deliver a new rotorplate and
the old one should be returned.
The rotor plate does not need to be checked before replacing a new ferro seal when the present seal is not leaking.
