Power requirements Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) for KappaCCD(2000)

An uninterruptable power supply is recommended for the KappaCCD detector and highly recommended for the KappaCCD 2000 detector to prevent the CCD temperature to rise fast in case of a power failure. For a long lifetime a slow temperature gradient is advised by the CCD manufacturer. The chance of delamination of the CCD from the fibre optic taper is very small, but it is expensive and not covered by guarantee. A UPS is therefore special advised in case the power is unreliable.

A UPS is normally not delivered by Bruker Nonius because it is part of the installation and depends on the local installation. For the electrical power: see the specification. The UPS should supply this for approx. one hour.

KappaCCD(2000) detector cooler

The CCD detector of the KappaCCD(2000) is cooled with a cooling liquid of 0 ºC. The cooler, tubes and connections are supplied by Bruker Nonius and are normally all positioned inside the generator cabinet.
