Pre-installation requirements for
KappaCCD(2000) or MACH3
|
Information to prepare the installation of the KappaCCD(2000) or MACH3
with FR590, FR591 or Microsource generator.
FR590, FR591 or Microsource
First check the pre-installation requirements of the 590
generator, 591
generator or Microsource
for:
General, Packing and shipping, Site, Power requirements, water coolers,
interlock, maintenance and summary.
Environment
-
Specification of environment.
-
Temperature : 20º - 22º C (temperature regulated)
-
Temperature stability : +/- 2º C
-
Humidity : approx. 40 %
-
Not in direct sunlight
-
Normal clean environment (solid particle contamination : less than 10E5
/ m3)
-
See also specification in the Technical User manual of KappaCCD(2000)
or MACH3
-
Generated heat to be removed by air conditioning (also check the X-ray
generator) :
-
MACH3 : max. 150 W
-
KappaCCD(2000) : max. 1.5 kW
-
Oxford cryostream 600 or 700 : max. 1,5 kW (230 V) or 1,8 kW (115 V).
Power requirements
-
KappaCCD(2000) or MACH3 equipment :
-
Mains power : see Technical user manual of KappaCCD
or MACH3
-
Except for the case of the Microsource, the mains must not be the same
as the supply to the generator.
-
The buyer should provide a flexible mains extension cable to the position
of the system with at least two standard mains electricity sockets and
plugs. The plug will be connected to the system by the installation engineer.
-
It is good practice to have extra wall sockets available for connecting
accessories and additional equipment.
Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) for
KappaCCD(2000)
An uninterruptable power supply is recommended for the KappaCCD detector
and highly recommended for the KappaCCD 2000 detector to prevent the CCD
temperature to rise fast in case of a power failure. For a long lifetime
a slow temperature gradient is advised by the CCD manufacturer. The chance
of delamination of the CCD from the fibre optic taper is very small, but
it is expensive and not covered by guarantee. A UPS is therefore special
advised in case the power is unreliable.
A UPS is normally not delivered by Bruker Nonius because it is part
of the installation and depends on the local installation. For the electrical
power: see the specification.
The UPS should supply this for approx. one hour.
KappaCCD(2000) detector
cooler
The CCD detector of the KappaCCD(2000) is cooled with a cooling liquid
of 0 ºC. The cooler, tubes and connections are supplied by Bruker
Nonius and are normally all positioned inside the generator cabinet.
-
The customer should supply six litres of glycol cooling liquid : premixed
for cars or a mixture of 50% pure ethylene glycol and 50% demineralized
water.
Computers and network
-
KappaCCD(2000)
-
The KappaCCD(2000) is supplied with a dedicated Server PC close to the
goniometer (a side table or cart is included).
-
An ethernet hub is included for connections between the system (Server
PC), host computer and an optional local printer.
-
The ethernet hub is equipped with a RJ45 or BNC (coax) for connection to
the customer network.
-
Two network IP numbers must be supplied before installation (for the Server
PC and the host PC).
-
MACH3
-
The MACH3 interface is connected to the Host computer with a RS232 line.
The maximum length is about 50 meters (at 9600 baud).
-
One network IP number must be supplied before installation (for the Host
computer).
-
The Host computer can best be set up outside the goniometer room.
